I read through your post a few days back and have been thinking about it ever since.  Here&#039;s what I&#039;m thinking you could (and I must stress the &quot;could&quot; do).  If you take a look at each web application in IIS you can see the virtual directory for all application pages (the pages not strored in the content databases), a creative admin could make a copy of the target directory, _LAYOUTS in this case which access c:\program files\common files\microsft shared\web server extensions\12\TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS and literally make a copy of the directory. So effectively you would have 2 LAYOUTS directory, one for each web application.
