Remember, I&#039;m a contractor, not a Msft employee so if you&#039;re saying that the UI is a little confusing, I agree - thus the blog article.  To get advanced usage analysis to work you will have to complete the following steps
&lt;ul&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;Open SharePoint Central Administration - a link will be installed in your server&#039;s administrative tools&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;Select your Shared Service provider under &quot;Shared Services Administration&quot;&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;Select &quot;Personalization Services Permissions&quot;&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;Add  your application pool account (or account that will be responsible for compiling analytics)  - this should be a service account&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;Start the &quot;advanced usage analysis&quot; process&lt;/li&gt;
