Problem
You’re running Vista 32 or 64 bit and you don’t have remote administration tools such as terminal services manager, DNS manager etc.
Explanation
Adminpak.msi no longer ships in the c:\windows\system32\ directory for Windows 2008.
Solution
Install remote server administration tools (RSAT) from Microsoft.
Step 1 – Download and install the proper version of the remote server administration tools.

Windows Server: It’s already installed, scroll down to "Solution for Windows Server"
After download, double click on Windows6.0-KB941314-x64.msu or Windows6.0-KB941314-x86.msu and install the software (which installs as a Microsoft Update).
Step 2 – Activate the administrative features you would like to utilize by opening your Control Panel >> Programs and Features >> Turn Windows Features on or off
Step 3 – Choose your features
Step 4 – Peruse your newly installed "features" under Administrative Tools
Solution for Windows Server
Note on Windows 2008 the RSAT is already installed, you simply have to activated it as you did above.
Step 1 – Visit the server’s Control Panel >> Programs and Features >> Turn Windows Features on or off
Step 2 – Select the features you’d like installed
Step 3 – Complete the install
Step 4 – Your newly installed RSAT features will be available under administrative tools.
