This problem was nagging me for almost a year. It was intermittent so it was really annoying. I guess it worked some times because the form would close fast and the workflow would run normal, but other times the form would close a little slower and the workflow would fail. I have an enterprise workflow that fails with the same signature when the client is using Windows 7. I have a feeling Word 2010 is not the problem. Ulysses So are you using Windows 7? That did not work. I think the workflow does not start because of the supposed checked out document, therefore it never gets to the "Wait" step. Any other tips out there? I have already installed the patch that was supposed to fix the Timer Service and that has not worked either. ARG! That did not work.
