Thank you very much for sharing this vital information. The issue has been resolved.

would like to add one more troubleshooting step here so everybody can take benefit of that.

problem description: not able to open the home page of the site and its throwing the below mentioned error message.

error message: not able to process "site URL", Code blocks are not allowed in this file. Troubleshoot issues with Windows SharePoint Services.

additional step that you can check:

1) If there is any problem in case of web parts then try closing them from that specific page itself

How to do that: towards the end of the default.aspx, please append ?contents=1 so that it will open web parts maintenance page. select all and close and try open the site & check the results

2) if the home page is not opening then try to open settings.aspx page and check the results

How to do that: site URL/_layouts/settings.aspx. I am pretty much sure that this will open without any issues

3) press control O and this will give you the opportunity to open that same site in shared view

if any sub sites exist then copy the default.aspx and paste it site default structure

make sure to take the backup of the original default.aspx before overwritten the existing one. Thank you

Hi All

I am in the same situation as rag, Nilesh Hirapra and Michael

With these steps I am now able to see “InfoPath Forms Services” section under “General application setting” but when I try to access any of the link under it, it gives this error:

Error
File Not Found.

Troubleshoot issues with Microsoft SharePoint Foundation.

Correlation ID: a015e648-c6c7-499f-a032-92882e8e52e2

Date and Time: 10/19/2011 10:53:26 AM

Go back to site

. I’ve checked the server, my license is "Server 2010 standard" and the files needed for InfoPaths appear to all be there. Any ideas how we could resolve this?

Thanks for posting this - I had followed similar guides for pre-2008 R2 and been stuck due to the permissions issue. I'll add the registry trick to my little black book.

Thanks again!

This is a great question and really gets to the point of the SQL Alias... I think a lot of people miss the concept or meaning of the word. With that said, here's what I would do in your situation.

(Test this in a Lab for Staging server first please )
1) Leave your farm as is (temporarily)
2) Create a SQL Alias in your CURRENT farm pointing to your CURRENT SQL Server + Database + Instance
3) Use the "stsadm -o setconfigdb -databaseserver alias" command to point the farm to the config database via the alias
4) Detach and reattach your contend databases using "stsadm -o addcontentdb" command
5) Move the databases to the new server (take care to create the logins and re-attache them)
6) Try pointing your your farm to the new SQL Server by simply changing the pointer of the alias (no changes in SharePoint needed for this step)

Hi there I have no SQL alias set up. I have the following problem.
I have a SharePoint server 2010 with the WFE and SQL Server on the same box.

I wish to set up a NEW SQL box and move all the Databases accross to the NEW SQL .

The Current SQL instance is \SQL Instance

will remain as thr WFE and is appropriately named.

I hope to call the NEW SQL something to suit inftrastructures naming convention SQL03. Do I move all the DBs and just point to this NEW server as being the Current Farm?
