While the previous articles in this series cover the installation and configuration of all major software components that support SharePoint 2013, including SharePoint 2013 itself, this article covers the installation of the core software development tools used to code for SharePoint 2013. The typical out-of-the-box (OOB) tool is SharePoint Designer 2013, while the more “custom development focused” solutions will be created using Visual Studio 2012 Professional or Ultimate.
